Disney Trip 2009
Becky and I took a trip to Orlando to see if old fogeys could have fun at the parks without kids. We arrived in the afternoon so spent the evening at Universal's City Walk. |
| After some dinner and strolling we took in a show. The Blue Man Group has a standing engagement at Universal. We can't explain what we saw, but it was quite a show. |

We spent our first full day at the Magic Kingdom. It was too early for spring break and with most kids in school, it was easy getting around. We had no wait longer than 15-20 minutes and most were less than 5 minutes. I can't take pictures on roller coasters or in the shows (house rules) so it will look like we only took the old lady rides but we went on everything there pretty much by 3:00 pm. |
| Becky was excited to be able to drive and see over the dash at the same time. |
We did the Teacups just for Tom. |
| It's still a small world after all. |
This is what happens if you try to use flash photography on any of the good rides. |
| Becky couldn't resist getting a little quilting in while we were there. |

Looks like I'm no better. |
| Our second Disney day was spent at Animal Kingdom. |
We got good advice to go straight back to the African Safari. The animals get fed in the morning so they are all out for the viewing. We saw lions, tigers, elans, crocodiles, elephants, warthogs, gazelles, hippos, giraffes and of course, rhinos. |
| We took a train ride to the research station where the veterinarians work on the animals. |

Animal Kingdom is mainly a zoo with a few rides attached. This was the best roller-coaster. It was called Expedition Everest. It has a portion of the ride where the coaster goes backward in the dark so Becky giggled like a little girl. We had to go on it three times just so I could hear it over and over. We also enjoyed a few shows: It's Tough to be a Bug; Finding Nemo: the Musical & Festival of the Lion King . |
