Florida Trip

Becky and I headed out Friday night, over a week before Andrew and Kendra's wedding. We spent the night in Menomenie Wisconsin and then drove on to Indiana to Cindy's house. We stopped off at Kohl's to see her at work before heading to their house.

We engaged in a heated game of Monopoly. Family relations will not be the same as Rand ran off with all the money.

On Sunday morning, we went to Gene's church for Bible study and services. After lunch at Bob Evans we took to the road again. We drove through Louisville to Bowling Green.

Bowling Green is home to the Corvette Plant and a nice museum in their honor. If you own a Corvette, it is a mandatory stop. I like to visit other people's cars.

We drove through a heavy downpour in Chattanooga to get to Atlanta Sunday night. We stayed near the airport where it was a short shuttle ride to the subway that goes downtown. Becky took ill so we spent an extra night there and I went solo to check out the sites.

I went to the Coke museum. It is an interesting tour, but considering the resources available to each, I think the Kool-Aid Museum was a better value. One benefit was free tastes of Coke products from around the world. I liked a pineapple drink from South Africa. Becky had told me to be sure to taste the Italian offering. It was HORRIBLE! And I thought she loved me. It turns out that Tom had suggested the same to her when they were there and she has been waiting to get someone else. I also visited the Georgia Aquarium. It is a decent aquarium but I was upset that they advertised a Titanic exhibit and then once you get in they charge ANOTHER $8 to get into that. There was a similar 3-D movie for kids that was an additional charge (the aquarium is not worth the price alone without these included).

Tuesday morning we headed for Florida and spent the afternoon picking up supplies for the wedding and getting settled into the beach house. This is the view from the second floor porch looking over the pool area where the wedding will be held.

The beach house has lots of room and amenities including this video game (Galaga and Ms. PacMan).

Wednesday morning was already warm enough to hang out at the pool.

Gratia, Lucas and Alair came in late Tuesday night. They were over early to enjoy the pool as well. Lucas liked jumping in the deep end while Andrew threw him a ball.

Andrew practiced his diving form off the high wall. Fine example for his godson!

Alair is a regular waterbug. If you don't watch her, she walks right into the water.
