Valhalla Dock Troubles

Becky and I arrived at Valhalla to find our dock in disrepair. Dad had just finished rebuilding his cribbing so we landed there. The high water point was last week but came with some winds that did additional damage.

The water was cool but bearable so I got in and put the pieces together.

I was missing a few parts but they mostly just fell straight down. That meant I had to go under completely and find them.

Becky got this shot of my trophies. While I was busy rebuilding my dock, Wade and Dad took down a large poplar that had died. It fell into another tree on its way down so they had to cut it down several times. Wade was in one of the four outfits he has left until the cleaners return his damaged laundry pile. I also took a couple trips in the woods with the chainsaw. The trail to the point and Brantner's trail are now open. I was so much in the water and the woods that I didn't take many pictures. These are from Becky's camera. Mary, Tom, Siri and Tom's Dad were up for a long weekend as well. Marge came up as we were leaving. They were having a birthday party for Siri. She got a pretty pink dress and high heeled Cinderella shoes so looked like the little princess she is. Watch for the pictures on their website (date uncertain). Wade, Dad and I played a few games of Pinochle. I was on a lucky streak. It helped that Dad and Wade in turns forgot to put their three cards back in the kitty and had to forfeit hands that might have won for them.

The blueberries seem to be coming along well. They should be just right by the time of the wedding.
