Omaha Air Show

August 16-17 was the weekend of the Omaha Air Show. Since Andrew was a part of the F15 Demonstration Team, we thought we would go see him in action.

Since Becky was working in the Twin Cities and I was working in Perham until 5 we decided to meet in Sioux Falls at Scott and Mary's. Emma gave me the tour of her room and Bailey's room and all of their toys.

Dylan thought he was carefully avoiding my camera (as he did at the wedding) but I caught him in action on the computer.

Scott, Mary and Becky are deciding if Michael Phelps touched first (also debating whether Michael Phelps is actually Tom with fake teeth).

We met up with Andrew in Omaha and he gave us a behind the scenes tour at the Air Show. This is the jet he rode in on. He is explaining some of the technical aspects of the jet's performance to an officer of the Offutt Air Base.

We also toured the other impressive aircraft on display. This is (by Andrew's estimation) the largest air show in the country. We saw a 4 star general there and that may have been a factor.

Later, Andrew let us climb up into his cockpit.

Andrew is explaining to Tom how his throttle hand also simultaneously runs 5 other instruments (one for each finger).

This is as close as I will get to riding one of these.

Andrew was the safety observer for the F15 demonstration flight.
