Omaha Air Show (page 2)

The F15 does a series of demonstrations of flying skill and combat readiness. Andrew brought his plane as a way of getting there and also as a backup plane in case of problems with the primary plane. The pilot on the demonstration team and all his mechanics make it a full time job to do air shows for a year or two. Andrew has been the safety observer for a handful of shows.

He helps the pilot know where he is relative to the crowds, ground and other aircraft in the show.

Part of the fun of being VIPs is sitting on the airfield instead of with the crowds.

Here the F15 is demonstrating its superiority over the F16 Thunderbirds.

This is the 1-star general that runs Offutt AFB with a cadet from the Air Force Academy.

Oh, and the Thunderbirds were also there.

Again we were in the VIP section with a great view.

We had a unique view of the Thunderbirds doing their PR work.

After the show we went out to eat in downtown Omaha at a place called Upstream. The best dish there was the fish and chips.
